How to Choose
Camshafts and Time Them
for Maximum
Power (Speedpro)
(Paperback)
by Des Hammill "The
most common terms when
camshafts are under
discussion are
'duration' and 'lift' -
almost to the point of
exclusion of all other
factors ..."
My
review:
This is a very
interesting book
explaining the nature of
maximising the presence
of the camshaft - and
the relative geometry
involved - in a simple
way. From 'mild' to
'wild' increased engine
performance, mild road,
fast road, street racing
and drag racing.
Providing essential
information which will
give you the knowledge
to go out and buy the
right camshaft for your
engine first time
around, or have one
ground to your
specifications.
The book's key features
include:
- camshaft and related
components terminology
- choosing the right
ammount of duration
- checking camshafts
- camshaft timing
principles
- camshaft problems
- checking for full lift
- camshaft timing
procedure SOHC engines
- Camshaft timing
procedure TOHC engines
(2 valves & 4 valves per
cylinder).
- Engine testing
This book is short, very
nice to read; it is an
invaluable source of
expert knowledge and you
can regard your copy as
an essential investment
in your engine building
budget.
