A 6 mile hike along the Rio Grande river in Texas with views of the Chihuahua Desert in both the USA and Mexico. I see some great views along the cliffs on either side of the border, before heading down to wet my boots in the river itself where it is narrow enough to cross.

Hiking through Guadalupe Mountains National Park I go past the tallest mountains in Texas. Following the snow covered Devil's Hall Trail I hike for a couple of miles to reach the interesting rock passage known as the Devil's Hall. I climb up the eroded steps, before heading back down the painful way

Climbing up the Hugh Norris Trail I hike an eight mile round trip to the top of Wasson Peak. Along the way I get fantastic views of all the cacti and other plants and views that stretch all the way down to Tucson.

I visit Peveril Castle in Castleton in Derbyshire and give a little information about the history of the castle and a tour of the area.
The castle dates back from the decades following the Norman invasion in 1066 and was built by William Peveril, a Norman knight. Over the years the castle has been built up, with extensive work done during the reign of King Henry II.

Leaving from Bowes I explore the castle, a late 12th century keep and give some history on its use. I follow the Bowes Loop portion of the Pennine Way over the hills on an extremely windy day before seeking refuge in a shelter. Returning to Bowes I once again look at the castle and give some more history.

I decide to visit the Devils Hole unit of Death Valley National park to see exactly what it is. I find it's a small hole that is the sole habitat for a species of fish in the middle of the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada.

Filming from Dantes View at 5705ft, I look down into Death Valley and Badwater Basin at -282ft, the lowest surface point of the USA. It is a perfectly clear day and Telescope Peak is visible at 11050ft. Looking up the valley you are able to see towards Furnace Creek

I visit the mountain Blencathra in the Lake District National Park. I climb up via Sharp Edge, a thin ridge route called an arete. It's pretty windy, but the day was fun and challenging.

Pepsi is 21 years old and last year went completely deaf. She was always a quiet cat with her meows being nothing but whispers, but since going deaf she's started shouting loudly.

I check out Carl Wark an ancient hill fort in the Peak District.
Potentially 2500 years old and later refortified by Romans, Carl Wark overlooks Burbage Valley in the Peak District. I tour the area, and see the stonework and earthen embankment added for extra defensive protection.

Testing out my new Sony Handycam HDR-CX115 on full quality 1920 X 1080 24 Mb/s HD FX setting. This is a direct upload of the .MTS file from the SD card.
I take a short walk near my home and see how well the camera copes in some woodland and some bright fields. I test out the x25 zoom and also use the automatic faces setting. It performs pretty well
