About
Four years ago, when I bought my first classic car and set about restoring it, I found a lot of great information on the internet, but it took so long searching it out. This website is aimed at collecting all the info under one roof!
One great source has been youtube, but I have spent literally 100's of hours sifting through pretty un-useful videos in order to find the real gems. I'm listing here the good ones.
Burton Power is another good source of information. Although they are a supplier of ford performance products, their catalogue is free and packed with useful info such as, conversion tables, building methods and techniques, what to avoid doing, potential output of engines etc.
We've been on the hunt for good value, up-to-date classic car modifications that enhance reliability, economy and performance
My particular engine is a ford sohc pinto engine, a great engine with loads of potential. A good site for this engine is: puma
To get the best out of the engine, I read and read ...and read - books, magazine articles, articles on the internet, and I asked a lot of questions. The search went beyond the normal car books and manuals, right through to scientific text articles and books. I wanted to understand the core shape and behaviour of what I was dealing with. I read the marvellous book by Dave Vizard that ignited a passion to learn more - which I'm doing.
I'm based in Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK. If you live in the area, feel free to drop by and we can swap stories - I'm a self-employed courier so I can arrange my time to meet up.
